Welcome to KisahBio MY. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and KisahBio MY ("we," "us," "our"). By accessing or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. Your Account

To participate fully, you must create an account using Google Sign-In. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

  • Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account.
  • Anonymity: Your account is represented by a randomly generated username. Your real name and email address are never displayed publicly.
  • Security: If you suspect any unauthorised use of your account, please contact us immediately.

2. Content and Community Guidelines

Our goal is to foster a constructive and safe environment. By posting content ("Content") on KisahBio MY, you agree to abide by these guidelines:

A. Be Relevant

  • All Content should relate to experiences within the Malaysian biotechnology and life sciences ecosystem. This includes topics like research, funding, regulation, career development, startup culture, and workplace challenges.

B. Be Anonymous and Respect Anonymity

  • Protect Yourself: Do not post personally identifiable information (PII) about yourself. This includes your full name, contact information, specific job title combined with a company name, or any other details that could compromise your anonymity.
  • Protect Others: Do not identify other individuals, even by "hinting." Referring to "my PI" or "the head of HR" is acceptable; referring to "Dr. Aman at XYZ University's biotech faculty" is not.

C. Be Constructive, Not Destructive

  • No Harassment or Hate Speech: Content that is defamatory, abusive, harassing, threatening, or that attacks individuals or groups based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or any other identity is strictly prohibited.
  • Criticise Ideas, Not People: It is acceptable to criticise a process, a policy, or a systemic issue (e.g., "The grant approval process is too slow"). It is not acceptable to launch personal attacks.
  • No Misinformation: Do not knowingly post false or misleading information.

D. Content Ownership and Moderation

  • You Own Your Content: You retain full ownership of the Content you post. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and distribute your Content on the KisahBio MY platform.
  • Our Right to Moderate: We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to review and remove any Content that violates these guidelines or is otherwise deemed inappropriate, at our sole discretion and without prior notice.

3. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

  • Attempting to compromise the security or integrity of our systems.
  • Using the platform for any illegal purpose or in violation of any law.
  • Scraping, harvesting, or collecting information about our users.
  • Impersonating any person or entity.

4. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

  • "As Is" Service: KisahBio MY is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
  • User-Generated Content: The views expressed in user-submitted Content are those of the authors and do not necessarily represent the views of KisahBio MY.
  • Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, KisahBio MY shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the service.

5. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time, without prior notice, for any reason, including a breach of these Terms. You may terminate your account by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the service will immediately cease.

6. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes. By continuing to use KisahBio MY after changes become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Terms.
